how to change folder background in Windows Explorer ???

One of the great unknown features of Windows 98 is the ability to take any picture or graphic and use it as the background for a folder. Changing folder backgrounds is more than switching up color schemes and putting up wallpaper on the desktop. With the help of a wizard and a few clicks, it allows the personality of the user to come through.
Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

  1. Click on "Start" in the lower left hand corner of the bottom toolbar and allow the submenu to open up.
  2. Go to "Programs" and select "Windows Explorer." This is an easy way to browse through folders contained on the computer. The left side is a list of all folders, and clicking on one will bring up the folder and its contents in the right windowpane.
  3. Select the folder you wish to change the background in and make sure the contents of the folder appear in the right side of the window.
  4. Right-click while the cursor is in the right side of the windowpane in the blank, white background of the selected folder. This brings up a small submenu.
  5. Choose "Customize this Folder," which is about halfway down on the small submenu and it opens up a wizard.
  6. Pick "Choose a Background Picture" option on the wizard and click the "Next" button. The wizard will guide you through browsing files on your computer and choosing one to become the new background of the folder.
  7. Repeat this process for each folder that you wish to customize in Windows
